So many great places to jet away to in the U.K. Might I add Lincoln, Lincolnshire? I was there recently for a university conference and discovered it was a fantastic cathedral city that boasted some excellent food, one of two copies of the Magna Carta and I believe, England’s oldest Bible. It also has a fantastic castle, football club, and more. I was there for a few days and had a blast. Also enjoyed the 2nd place winner for England’s Best Fish Fry.

Yes, with so many interesting things to do in England and UK the cities here offer an amazing opportunity to explore all of these beautiful and historical things like the Magna Carta history. Yes, definitely worth a visit.

Yeah. The Isles of Scilly in southwest England has been sitting on my vacation list of weekend getaway in England for a while now and I really can’t wait to mark it as visited. It sure is an amazing place known for its relaxed pace of life and beautiful scenery. I can already imagine lots of fun stuff to do there. Firmly adding weekend trips from London on my summer bucketlist.
Bianca
That place has been on my list for a while now. I have done many a weekend trips around London but still haven’t made it to the Isle of Scilly, though I came close this Summer when I was due to visit from Cornwall but sadly run out time.

If you’re like me you tend to forget what your back garden has to offer. I’ve lived in the U.K. my entire life and had no idea about many of these amazingly nice places to visit in UK for weekend. Great article, you really opened my eyes, and have given me some new ideas of weekend road trips from London.

I have always wanted to go to France but I can’t believe that the UK had so many amazing cities with so many amazing places to visit and stay. Which one should I attend for my first visit to the UK? Would love one of the these for as weekend breaks in UK Easter time.
Bianca
Oh there are so many to weekend getaways in England choose from. It depends on how much time you have so that you dont spend most of it travelling to them if you are short on time. You could maybe check out weekend breaks in Bath UK or even weekend breaks in Oxford UK as both of these places are not too far from each other. Plenty of cool romantic getaways in London as well too of course.

I am Game of Thrones fan, so I love the idea of visiting the location of my favorite series in Belfast. Thanks for the tour advice and the many weekend breaks in the UK ideas. You are very fortunate to live in UK, it is really beautiful and the truth is that I´d never read about these destinations that offer another perspective of UK. Thank you for showing us these natural beauties and medieval structures that serve as inspiration. By the way, great pictures!
Bianca

These look like the best UK weekend getaways for couples. I’ve never heard about the city called York; although it looks like a splendid place I would love to visit. So many amazing cities and so little time. Would love to hopefully get to all of these in the next couple of years!
