• Vencia Hotel – Vencia Boutique Hotel will provide you with a combination of relaxation and luxury. Transportation from airport, relaxing swimming pool, free breakfast, and free wifi are just a few entries from the long list they can provide. This hotel will cost you £239/$302 per night.
• Magas Hotel – If you opt to spend your Mykonos days in Magas hotel, you will avail facilities like a flat-screen TV with cable channels, complimentary high-speed internet, and luxurious toilet and showers. They will provide you with complimentary breakfasts as well. The accommodation charge is £114/$144 per night.
• Vouniotis Rooms – A triple room with a garden view will cost you around 108 USD per night. You can rest in air-conditioned and soundproof rooms, use luxurious showers with complimentary toiletries. There will be a free Wifi facility, as well.
• Hostels – It is very difficult to find any private room in hostels as the entire Mykonos encompasses only 3 of them. During high season, a four-bedded room will charge around £198/$250, whereas, in the offseason, the same rooms are available for £119/$150. Dorm room beds are easily available compared to private rooms. A dorm bed will cost about £63/$80 during July and August, which will go down to £23/$30 in off-seasons. Accommodation cost in Mykonos depends on the place and time you visit. Depending on where you choose to stay, this can make up much of the cost of your holidays to Myknoso. Before booking a hotel, consider a few ways to minimize your expenses.

 

• These days, people normally book hotels online. Before booking any hotel, know all the options you have, and search for the best deal according to your budget.

• Plan your trip and book hotels long before you set off on the journey. Earlier, the booking will give you more options for hotels, gifting you great deals as well. Thus, as soon as you identify your travel date, book a hotel.

• July to August is the high season in Mykonos. Tourists will come in large numbers, and hotel prices will remain high. Therefore, if you avoid these two months, you can experience the real essence of Mykonos. May, June, and September are great months to explore this land as the weather remains fine, and the sea is warm enough. Importantly, the price rate will be decreased by around 20%.

• Select a hotel providing complimentary breakfasts. It is cheaper than the hotel packages that receive payment afterward.

• Before booking any options, check whether there are any hidden fees like cleaning fee or bed linen fee, etc.

Transportation in Mykonos

Mykonos is a small island, having a length of around 12-15 km and a width of 10 km for those wondering just how big is Mykonos. To quench your thirst for roaming in Mykonos Island, you can easily avail of public transports like bus, taxi, scooter, water taxi, or by foot itself.

 

Using public transport is probably the best option to see and feel the beauty of the mesmerizing beaches at the southern and northern coastal areas. Also getting to Mykonos is fairly easy via the Athens-Mykonos speedboats, flights from Athens, in addition to ferries from Santorini to Mykonos too.

 

• Taxi in Mykonos

You may have to wait for a long while finding a taxi in Mykonos. Just 30 taxis are available in the whole Mykonos. You can find the main Taxi Stand just behind the Cosmote building, near the northern entrance of Mykonos town. Apart from this, another taxi stand is just after the northern bus station, where taxis are available at a long pause.

 

If you want to book taxis from both the stands, you have to wait in a queue until your turn comes. However, during midsummer, you may have to wait for an hour holding your patience. Normally, in the evening, taxis are rarely available. There is no meter in these taxis. They have a uniform rate chart for a specific destination. However, the rates are pocket-friendly. 

Booking Radio Taxi will be another option, but you have to pay €1.30 extra along with appointing charge of €5 with the fare. 

 

 

 

• Aegean Taxi

Aegean Taxi, a mobile app operating taxi service on the island of the Aegean Sea, is another option to book cars in a hassle-free way. You just need to download the app and send your taxi-booking request.

 

• Water Taxi

You will be excited and delighted if you decide to choose the boat service and float on the sea for reaching the southern beaches of Mykonos. Small fishing boats are modified into tourist boats or, in other words, ‘Water Taxis.’

 

From Platys Gialos, boats are sailing out for the beaches of Paranga, Agrari, Paradise, Elia, and Super Paradise, once in an hour or less than that. This service starts at 10:20 am and goes on until 4:20 pm. During the return journey from Elisa to Platis Gialos, the last boat can be picked up at 6 pm. While returning from Super Paradise, you can find your last boat at 8 pm. From Ornos, boats are available for the beaches of Paranga, Elia, Platys Gialos, Paradise, Agrari, and Super Paradise at 10 am, 11 am, and 1 pm. 

 

Fare for to, and fro journey is €5 for Paradise and Paranga. You have to pay €6 for Super Paradise and €7 for Agrari and Elia. Additionally, keep in mind that boat service can be canceled due to heavy wind. However, except for the beach Super Paradise, bus service is available from Mykonos Town to reach all other beaches.

 

• Motorbikes and Car Rentals

Motorbike is another option for travelers who want to explore the beauties of remote beaches on the northern coast. Motorbikes and car rental facilities are available in large numbers, especially in the southern bus stations and behind Archeological Museum.

However, opting for Mykonos car rental facilities during the pick season might be a cause of your headache due to the scarcity of parking areas.

 

 

How Much Is Food In Mykonos? Are Restaurants Expensive?

Cafes and restaurants come here in all shapes and sizes, proffering various menu and price charts. Prices can go up quite high if you plan to dine in elite hotels. However, hotels serving quality food under an affordable budget are available in Mykonos. Common dinner options like pasta, pizza, and different salads are often served with one or two complimentary wine glasses and costs around £6/$8 USD to £12/$16.

 

For lunch, you can easily find restaurants dishing up exquisite Mediterranean dishes with reasonable pricing of $5 to $12. A three-course meal for two people in a mid-range restaurant will be about $110 to $120. Most of the cafes in Mykonos hang their price charts in front of their gates. Thus, before making an entry, you know how much money your delectable breakfast will cost.

 

For a standard level breakfast, you need to spend around $4 to $8. However, beverages and beers are rarely cheap, particularly in the seaside areas. A domestic beer (0.5-liter draught) is worth $6, and an imported one (0.33-liter bottle) would be around $7. Price for availing a drink in a mainstream bar would be around £6/$8  to £9/$11, and for a cocktail, it will tangle between $33 and $50.

Tropicana Beach Bar, Moni Club, Guze Mykonos Club, and Remezzo are a few other soul charmers, entertaining in exchange for quite a good amount.
