Hi Bee, I’m planning a trip to Santorini in early June 2019. It will be myself, my wife, and our teenage daughters. We would love to visit Santorini from Mykonos. Do you know if we can do a day trip or would it be best to take a flight or ferry from Mykonos to Santorini and stay overnight? Also are you able to recommend the best hotels in Santorini with a Caldera View?
Thanks so much!
Bianca
Hi there, sorry for the late reply. I have a detailed post on where to stay in Santorini on the blog that I have linked to. With regards to the day trip, its possible to do a day trip from Mykonos to Santorini but the only issue is that of transportation and whether the current options allow you to fully explore the island. Instead I would highly recommend a trip from Mykonos to Santorini with an overnight stay in Santorini. I also have a Santorini Travel Guide with tips on things to do in Santorini. I also have a guide on where to stay in Mykonos with tips on the best areas to stay in Mykonos. There are plenty of options for where to stay with family some of which also come with the Caldera view.

Do they have items for nausea or should I have them on hand myself on the ferry from Mykonos to Santorini? I ask because I have been to places on vacation where I had to be on a ferry boat and I do not do so well on though. I guess I have issues with sea sickness on larger boats. I just don’t want to go unprepared. We are leaving for Mykonos and then to Santorini Island in 3 weeks.
Bianca
I am usually ok with sea travel so this is not something I would even have considered to check for. Probably best to get some tablets yourself just to be on the save side, otherwise I am sure all the ferries have first aid and if its very bad they might have something for you. Or better yet maybe consider taking the slightly slower ferry from Mykonos to Santorini instead of the fast ferry.
Emma

I am planning a trip to Santorini soon, I´ll go with my family, I have a baby of 2 years and will go my father, the older one (70). What means of transportation do you recommend to use so that everyone travels comfortable? I am thinking of taking the ferry from Mykonos to Santorini, also means it may be cheaper option for us too.

Great info here. I am traveling with my mom, 15 and 11 year old kids in august. Is the Mykonos Paros Naxos Santorini ferry worth the extra stopping time? We are trying to get from Mykonos to Santorini. Or is it best to just book a day excursion while in Santorini to other islands that also includes other tourist opportunities?
